Although my posts lately have been few & far between, I have a good excuse!
I have been working on piecing together my portfolio and also working an identity package for myself. This has been a huge challenge for me. Together the business package includes logo, letterhead, business card and spiffy mailing envelope that fits it all comfortably inside. All of which will be put to the test when I mail off my design portfolio for my application to Emily Carr University.
Here is my latest revision…

I approached this task knowing 2 basic things about what I wanted to achieve in a mark for myself. 1 being simplicity, and 2 being my initials. The type I settled on is Century Gothic, a font inspired by 20th Century, but a bit more modern. I chose this font after analyzing my name and taking note of the big round letters. I sought after a font with consistent strokes and symmetrical circles in the lowercase o’s and d’s to match the dot in my mark. I considered finding a font that matched the C & J in the mark, but that was a dead-end.
I am looking for feedback regarding the placement of the type and COLORS! Colors are a tough challenge for me. I can go through hundreds of combinations that I like, and a few that I love, but settling on 1 or 2 has proven difficult. So folks, let me know what you would do, any comments are appretiated!

Mediumjones.com gets a major upgrade
I’ve been procrastinating the upgrade to WordPress 2.7. I knew how awesome the upgraded admin interface was but I didn’t have a new theme ready for it. Thanks to Kriesi for the wicked AJAX/PHP skills, my site has a much needed upgrade to the look and function!
If anybody is having problems with my site, you should try clearing out your cache. Like it? Hate it? Let me know!
